The quantum Rabi model describes the coupling of a two-state system to a bosonic field mode. Recent theoretical work has pointed out that a generalized periodic version of this model, which maps onto Hamiltonians applicable in superconducting qubit settings, can be quantum simulated with cold trapped atoms. Here, we experimentally demonstrate atomic dynamics predicted by the periodic quantum Rabi model far in the deep strong-coupling regime.

Abstract Inclusive production processes will be important for the first observations of XYZ states at new generation electron-hadron colliders, as they generally benefit from larger cross sections than their exclusive counterparts. We make predictions of semi-inclusive photoproduction of the χc1(1P) and X(3872), whose peripheral production is assumed to be dominated by vector exchanges.

Massive stars have relatively short lifetimes, typically lasting only a few million years. They eventually transform into compact remnants as black holes (BH) or neutron stars (NS), after departing from the main sequence (MS). These remnants possess significantly higher masses compared to their long-lived (> few Gyr), low-mass counterparts.
