The Sa Malietoa family acknowledged the Council of Deputies' appointment for Susuga a le Malietoa Moli Tanumafili II through a traditional presentation at Parliament on Wednesday. World Rugby trainer Koli Sewabu is in Samoa to train local educators in various aspects of rugby including coaching, officiating, and management. The Super Week is in its second week, and the commitment from participants was one of the highlights of the two-week programme. "It's not an easy two weeks because there's so much information, new information especially if you're new to rugby, and no background in rugby like a few of the teachers who came," said Sewabu.

The boys in blue were unable to secure their place in the final after losing to Mike Friday Select 7s 19-14 at the Coral Coast 7s in Fiji on Saturday. It was a nail-biting match as the game went down to the wire. The match went into extra time as both teams were tied 14-14 at the final whistle. Unfortunately, it did not go the way the Manu Samoa wanted as Mike Friday Select secured their try and cemented their place in the final.

The first major achievement in the removal of fuel and other pollutants from HMNZS Manawanui has been completed, with recovered fuel being offloaded at the Port of Apia. This marks the completion of the first removal cycle. The barge returned to the southwest of Upolu to position back above Manawanui where divers will prepare to hit the water to commence the second cycle of fuel removal.

The Chief Executive Officer of Lakapi Samoa, Seumanu Douglas Ngau Chun says Manusina 7s did not participate in the Coral Coast 7s in Fiji because the team management wanted to camp in New Zealand and train with overseas-based players. Questions were raised as to why the women's national sevens team did not go to Fiji to compete the popular sevens competition which attracts top teams from the region.
