The interviews were conducted between May and November 2022. In total, 29 interviews were conducted with 30 participants (one duo interview), of which 12 interviews in hospital one, 10 interviews in hospital two, and 7 in hospital three. A total of 18 interviews were conducted online via Microsoft Teams or by telephone and 11 interviews in person in the hospital. The interviews were audio-recorded and lasted between 24 and 70 min.

We performed a systematic review of qualitative studies on the barriers and facilitators influencing collaboration between stakeholders from the mental health care and social security sectors during the implementation of coordinated or integrated VR interventions (see Table 1 for definitions). A systematic review was found to be appropriate because our aim was to provide a comprehensive, unbiased synthesis of available literature on the implementation of vocational rehabilitation [31].
