AbstractSub-optimal food choices contribute to the risk of multiple non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which can be mitigated by improving diet quality. Food consumption patterns may partly account for variation of NCD risks in population subgroups in China. This study aimed to evaluate the risk of diet-related NCDs of observed Chinese diets, and to assess the potential reduction in NCD risks by adhering to certain diet recommendations.

Transthoracic open procedure (TTO) was historically the preferred approach for treatment of giant hiatal hernias. However, the last decades transabdominal laparoscopic procedures (TAL) became the standard approach in many centres. The aim of the study was to compare short-term and midterm outcomes, as well as patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs, between TTO and TAL for giant hiatal hernias.

AbstractMortality rates in patients with cardiogenic shock complicating acute myocardial infarction (AMICS) remain high despite advancements in AMI care. Our study aimed to investigate the impact of prehospital symptom duration on the prognosis of AMICS patients and those receiving mechanical circulatory support (MCS). We conducted a retrospective cohort study with data registered in the Netherlands Heart Registration.
