The recent decision by the Government to repeal progressive anti-smoking laws is more than a policy change; it’s a significant missed opportunity in public health. These laws had the potential to protect future generations from tobacco addiction and its associated health issues. Working in south Auckland, I saw the potential the smoking ban could have had on our community members, particularly our youth.
