Brad Penner-Imagn Images The Mets easily handled the Rockies 8-2 to pick up their sixth win in eight games on this homestand. After Kodai Senga surrendered a homer to the second batter of the game (Ezequiel Tovar), he hunkered down to retire the next 17 batters he faced before faltering a bit in the seventh. José Buttó came in to escape the inning and preserve a 28th straight start for Senga in which he allowed fewer than three earned runs.

Gregory Fisher-Imagn Images Prior to tonight’s game against the Rockies, the Mets have recalled reliever Chris Devenski and optioned Brandon Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse. The move is not all that surprising, as Waddell ate up five innings in middle relief during the team’s 9-4 loss on Wednesday, which helped spare the rest of the bullpen. He needed to do so because Griffin Canning only lasted three innings, forcing the left-hander to soak up innings four through eight.

Isaiah J. Downing-Imagn Images The Mets (34-22) return to action tonight to conclude their nine-game homestand with a three-game set against the Rockies (9-47). The Mets took four out of six games from the Rockies last year, including two out of three at Citi Field. Of course, last year’s Rockies team was not nearly as...shall we say, starving for wins...as this year’s iteration.

Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images The Mets earned their third straight win in walk off fashion, topping the White Sox 2-1 on Memorial Day. New York was stymied by old friend Adrian Houser, who threw six shutout frames. The Mets struggled once again, leaving 10 runners on base, but thanks to some solid pitching from Clay Holmes (six shutout innings) and the bullpen, the game remained close.

But I was told Juan Soto was miserable here and hated all of his teammates and himself.

Juan Soto has implemented a ritual for the Mets' outfielders following each half-inning of play in the field - the three players wait for each other before entering the dugout From @WillSammon of @TheAthletic: "Back in spring training, Soto whistled in the direction of Brandon https://t.co/69wIYuReVl
