The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is investigating the specific cause of damage to at least eight vehicles on eastbound Highway 417 between Highland Road and McCrimmon Road during the afternoon and early evening of Tuesday, June 24. A suspect has been arrested and could face charges following an alleged hit and run involving two cyclists in Rigaud. Sûreté du Québec Sergeant Elisabeth Mattice confirmed that 54-year-old Brian Poirier was arrested on Sunday, May 25 in connection an alleged hit-and-run that occurred on Saturday May 24, in which two cyclists were injured in a collision with a vehicle on Chemin du Haut-de-la-Chute in Rigaud. Mattice said the cyclists were injured but could not comment further on their condition.

The management and staff at a popular restaurant in Grenville are in mourning following the death of an employee. According to a social media post from Fromage et Cie owner Nathalie Malo shared that Johan Alexandro Garcia, who worked at the restaurant known for its varieties of poutine and cheese manufactured on-site, was killed as a result of a collision between his vehicle and a moose on Route 148 on the way to work on the morning of Monday, May 26.

Eastbound traffic on Autoroute 50 near Lachute was completely stopped for nearly an hour on Saturday, May 10 because of a collision on the bridge over Rivière-du-Nord. The Sûreté du Québec and firefighters responded, but no ambulance arrived. A patrol vehicle from the Québec transport ministry arrived to help redirect traffic and get it moving.
