Get ready for a Saturday of roaring engines and high-performance power in Vankleek Hill. The annual Truck Pull and Show ‘n Shine is on Saturday, June 21 at the Vankleek Hill Fairgrounds. The gates open at 9 am on Saturday, and the truck pulls begin at 10 am. There are five different pull classes. At 1:30 pm, the Monster Truck show starts and is sure to impress crowds with a variety of vehicles performing daring and unbelievable moves.

Trash N’ Treasure, Vankleek Hill’s annual bargain bonanza, was on Saturday, June 7. The annual town-wide yard sale, presented by the Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association with the support of Champlain Township attracted vendors from home and away, along with bargain hunters from all over. In addition to the yard sales throughout town, schools, churches, and other organizations used Trash N’ Treasure as a fundraising opportunity. Photos: James Morgan

Vankleek Hill’s much-anticipated town-wide yard sale takes place on Saturday, June 7, from 9 am to 4 pm. This 25-year tradition has grown in popularity over the years. For the past few years, Champlain Township has waived the requirement for a garage sale permit for the entire township, as well as within the limits of Vankleek Hill.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Pipes, Drums and Dancers: National Capital Region returned from a 12-day trip to the Netherlands on Friday, May 9, 2025. This trip was to join in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation by Canadian troops on May 4, 1945. Canadians were the largest part of the liberation forces, and Canadian Lieutenant-General Charles Foulkes was present for the official Nazi surrender at the Hotel de Wereld in Wageningen.

A suspect has been arrested and could face charges following an alleged hit and run involving two cyclists in Rigaud. Sûreté du Québec Sergeant Elisabeth Mattice confirmed that 54-year-old Brian Poirier was arrested on Sunday, May 25 in connection an alleged hit-and-run that occurred on Saturday May 24, in which two cyclists were injured in a collision with a vehicle on Chemin du Haut-de-la-Chute in Rigaud. Mattice said the cyclists were injured but could not comment further on their condition.
