The body of a kayaker who went missing in the Connecticut River nearly two weeks ago has been recovered, the Hampden County District Attorney said. Niklas Delisle, 27, of Chicopee, disappeared on May 19 when the kayak that he and his girlfriend were in capsized. His girlfriend was rescued that night, but Delisle could not be located. “This is a tragic loss, and we extend our deepest condolences to the Delisle family,” Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni said in a statement.

The Sumner Tunnel will be closed to traffic overnight Monday as crews install overhead signage, MassDOT said Friday. The tunnel is scheduled to be closed from 11 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers should expect delays and follow detour routes.The Ted Williams Tunnel and Callahan Tunnel will remain open. "Appropriate signage, law enforcement details and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area," MassDOT said.

Students at Quincy High School in Massachusetts have completed an impressive project: building a tiny house from scratch over the course of three years.The students, part of the school's carpentry, electrical and plumbing programs, created a fully functional home. The students said the project showcases their skills and supports affordable housing.The money from the sale of the tiny house will go back to the school's trade program.

A Massachusetts firefighter was arrested on multiple child pornography-related charges this week, according to Sterling police. Kyle Litchwell, 34, a Sterling resident and a firefighter in the town of Berlin, was arrested Wednesday night.

A box truck driver was trapped in his truck Thursday morning after taking down a utility pole and wires in Waltham, Massachusetts. The incident happened just after 10 a.m. on Cushing Street near St. Charles Borromeo Church. Waltham Fire said the truck snagged the wires, snapping the pole in half.
