    The annual Princess Academy was held Feb. 22, hosted by the Vincennes State Historic Sites. During the day, little girls ages 4 to 9 were able to dress up as princesses and participate in princess activities. Some of the activities include dancing, where Janice Barniak, executive director at Visit Vincennes/Knox County, led the girls in a body-positive dance activity. Barniak has volunteered with the Princess Academy for two years and said the day is always enjoyable.

Organizations across the city are opening their doors to help provide those in need a break from the wind and freezing temperatures.     United Way of Knox County has announced the annual Volunteers in Tax Assistance free tax service will return to Knox County Public Library and Bicknell-Vigo Township Library in the month of February. According to United Way Executive Director Mark Hill, people can utilize the service by picking up a packet from either location and completing it to the best of their ability.

    The South Knox School Corporation board of trustees accepted a bid for the sale of a bus, Tuesday. The $7,000 bid was made by DeLisle Farms LLC. Trustees also approved the board’s 2025 officers, including Eric Carter, president; Jesse Watjen, vice president; Alicia Houchin, secretary; Tammy Asdell, treasurer; Alicia Houchin, legislative liaison; Jeff Cochren, Twin Rivers Vocational Board of Directors; and Eric Carter, Knox County Special Education Cooperative Board.
