VINCENNES — The Vincennes City Council held two public hearings and approved a free utilities assessment through Veregy at its Monday meeting. Two public hearings were held at the beginning of the meeting, one on the 10-year abatement on for the Bierhaus Flats, and one about a vacation of property on the corner of 19th and Buntin Streets. There was no public comment for the two hearings.

VINCENNES — The Vincennes Board of Works opened bids for a new fire department training facility and approved the funds for a new feature on the city's app that will allow for the public to know when trains are stopped at railroad crossings throughout town at it's Monday evening meeting. Board members opened five bids for the new fire department training facility and took those under advisement to further look at numbers in time for the next meeting.

VINCENNES — As the weather warms, the Knox County Seed Library has an abundance of seeds available to the public to try their hand at growing and gardening, and is encouraging the community to grow a not-so-local bean through its "One Seed, One Community" project. Two of the many KCSL founding members, Terri Talarek King and Patti Coffey, said the seed library is located near the sun room in the Knox County Public Library and is free for anyone to utilize.

VINCENNES — The Knox County Council met Tuesday early evening, where they passed initial resolutions for two different tax abatements within Knox County. A representative from Martin Brothers Distributing, a broad-line food distributor based out of Cedar Falls, Iowa, addressed the board that the company was looking at acquiring what is currently Wabash Foods off of Ramsey Road, with the plan to update and bring the building up to "modern times" for a new distribution center.

Last weekend I decided it was time for me to do some spring cleaning of my Google Drive. I had almost no more space left to upload photos, and noticed that some documents saved were dated for 10-plus years ago. I thought it was safe to say I probably don't need to hold onto them anymore. In doing so, I came across a homework submission from my freshman year in high school that was 14-year-old me explaining where I saw myself in five years and then 10 years. I was pretty accurate.
