It’s your worksheet for knowing exactly what you need to buy and cook, day by day of the week. I know that most of us make it to Shabbos every week without a worksheet like this, but I find it very helpful. It’s grounding. I don’t need to think. All I need to do is fill in the blanks. So, if I find that there are some weeks when my head is not screwed on completely, all I need to do is take out my blank worksheet and fill in my main dish.

Jump to Recipe Print RecipeYou’ve never tasted ice cream like this before. With praline, dairy streusel, fresh cherries, and balsamic glaze, this is as flavorful as ice cream sundaes get. Really, I don’t remember how this combination came about. I was planning a sheva brachos and I was in the mood to be creative. Jump to Recipe Print RecipeThis Pear Parmesan Salad with praline is that perfect, dairy salad that your guests (and you) look forward to. I turn back to this salad almost every time I’m hosting a dairy meal, and every single time, I start from scratch. “What did I do last time?” “What did I put in the dressing?” “How did I cook the pears?”I suppose I guess right each time, or maybe the combination is just so good, that it doesn’t matter if it’s a little different each time.

Jump to Recipe Print RecipeThis is the feel-good salad with barely any chopping required. If you see kosher broccoli slaw (made from the broccoli stems only) in your local supermarkets, this is what you should prepare with it. Honestly, I never was compelled to buy broccoli slaw because what would I do with it? I like my cole slaw the regular way, with cabbage. And I didn’t want to put mayo on yet another salad.

by Victoria Dwek | April 20, 2025 | 3 comment(s) Where can you safely buy chametz after Pesach? Every year, the AKO (the umbrella organization of all kashrus organizations) updates the list of supermarkets to inform us of where it’s permissible to buy chametz. While we know that our local kosher supermarkets sell their chametz, it’s not always so clear when it comes to larger chain stores, which might be Jewish owned, or might be supplied by Jewish distributors who did not sell chametz.
