The Monache Marauders were on the losing end of that contest, but the defeat motivated them in the offseason and beyond. The Marauders (17-5-1) rode that loss all the way back to this season’s D-II final. Shane Marshall’s run as the Central Valley Christian baseball coach is over. Marshall is moving his family out of state after accepting a teaching position with a high school in Arizona. This season, Marshall completed his seventh year as the coach at the Visalia private school, leading the Cavaliers to 12 wins and the program’s first appearance in the Central Section Division II baseball playoffs.

The Mission Oak High School baseball team has enjoyed a record-setting season. Under the Breaks, a father-son coach and player duo, the Hawks won the program’s first league championship in school history, capturing an outright West Yosemite League title. Mission Oak opened in 2008. Coach Kevin Break’s squad capped off the regular season with a 17-8-1 record, including a 12-3 mark in league play. Senior second baseman Chase Break is among the team leaders with a .329 batting average.
