    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - Quad Cities Chalk Art Fest, a street art festival, returned to Rock Island’s riverfront for another year, creating a vibrant space for community and creativity. Sunday kicked off day two of the festival at Schwiebert Riverfront Park with music, food, fun, and of course incredible chalk art being finished throughout the day. The awards ceremony was held at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate talented artists. Sydney Scott won first place with her colorful fruit assortment artwork.

    SAVANNA, Ill. (KWQC) - A search in the Mississippi River is underway in Carroll County. Many crews are on-scene searching the Mississippi River in the area around Marquette Park. According to the Carroll County Emergency Management Director, Jim Klinefelter crews began the search on Saturday, ending around 11 p.m. and returning to the scene on Sunday around 7 a.m. There was a “incident involving a boat,” Klinefelter said.

    DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - It was a scene filled with hugs, tears, and a deep sense of pride at the Davenport Armory Tuesday afternoon as 60 soldiers from Delta Company prepared to leave for deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. The send-off ceremony for Delta Company, 1-133rd Infantry Battalion, began at 3:30 p.m., offering a moment for loved ones to share hugs, tears, and words of encouragement.

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - The Rock Island Arsenal held its annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday, honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to the country. Families, veterans, and military leaders gathered at the Rock Island National Cemetery to pay tribute to the fallen. The event featured music by the QC Cordbusters and Davenport Central High School Band, as well as the National Anthem.
