1. IntroductionThe search for efficient and well-tolerated drugs for the therapy of perilous infectious diseases is ongoing. The apicomplexan parasite agent of toxoplasmosis, Toxoplasma gondii, occurs globally and poses a considerable health risk to vulnerable immunocompromised persons, such as people with HIV, organ transplant patients, and neonates [1,2,3].
