    Fund manager Walter Scott & Partners increased its bonus pot in a year that saw assets under management rise, but bottom line profits fall. The Edinburgh firm, which has a headcount of 174, including four directors, marked its 40th anniversary by posting a standstill turnover of £290.6m for the year to the end of December (2022: £290m). Pre-tax profit fell by 9% to £191.7m from £210.2m in the previous 12 months after incentive deferrals led to an £11.6m or 13% rise in incentive deferrals.

Truly, I could not enjoy them more if I tried.
