SUKKUR: The Shikarpur police have failed to trace out the band of armed men who attacked former MPA and a highly influential feudal lord Sardar Mir Ghalib Domki a couple of days back. SUKKUR: A tug of war involving senior police officers has been going on since the October 14 attack on the vehicle carrying former Sindh Assembly member Shaheryar Shar. The MPA had escaped unhurt in the attack which had left one of his companions dead and two others wounded. The attack was carried out in the riverine area of Rwanti, in Ghotki district, and initially it was claimed that the firing was made by gangsters.

SUKKUR: An investigation has been initiated into the allegation that SHO Abdul Shakoor Lako of the Shaheed Deen Mohammad Leghari (SDML) police station was involved in the Monday (October 14) firing on the vehicle carrying former MPA Sardar Shaheryar Khan Shar near the riverine area of Ghotki district. Sardar Shar’s bodyguard, Ali Mohammad Shar, was killed and former’s two associates, Jan Mohammad Bugti and Sohrab Shar, were wounded in the attack.

SUKKUR: Acting upon media reports, which claimed that several employees posted in the morgue of the Khairpur Civil Hospital got infected while handling three rotting bodies, the district administration has constituted an inquiry committee to ascertain facts leading to the situation. The provincial chief secretary has sought a report from the health secretary, who asked Khairpur District Health Officer (DHO) Nadeem Jokhio to hold an inquiry into the matter.

SUKKUR: The Ghotki police on late Saturday evening claimed to have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Nasrullah Gadani, a journalist associated with a Sindhi-language newspaper, who was shot at and seriously wounded by unknown assailants on May 21 and had succumbed to his wounds on May 24.
