RAHIM YAR KHAN: A gang of Katcha area attacked the house of relatives of an alleged police informer and killed four of his relatives, including three brothers, at Basti Chandia/Lashari of village Jajja Abbasian in the Zahirpir town of tehsil Khanpur at night. On the other hand, police claimed that two attackers were killed when they were trying to escape towards the Katcha area.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Twelve people, including farmers, were injured during a fight outside a sugar mills in Jetha Battha, 56kms from here, late on Friday night. Reports said the clash opposite the Hamza Sugar Mills started when mills staff allegedly started deductions from the cane weight. When farmers put up resistance against the illegal practice, the mills staff allegedly started beating some farmers who ran for safety. Mill guards chased the farmers and beat them with clubs.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: After a month-long lull, gangsters from the Katcha area have become active once again, kidnapping three people, including two Hindus, on Friday night in two strikes. The dacoits abducted two Hindus, Shameer Jee and Dheema Jee, from their home in the Kalywali area, within the Bhong police jurisdiction. The assailants forcibly entered their house and took them to the katcha region. District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal promptly dispatched a team to work on their recovery.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: PPP’s Makhdoom Tahir Rasheeduddin defeated PTI’s Hassaan Mustafa in the by-election held for NA-171, according to unofficial results compiled on Thursday night. The seat had fallen vacant after PTI-backed MNA Rais Mumtaz Mustafa’s death a few weeks ago. Mr Rasheeduddin secured 116,429 votes against Hassaan Mustafa’s 58,251, the unofficial tally shows. Later, celebrations started at the residence of Mr Rasheeduddin.
