More Australians than ever are using medicinal cannabis to treat , such as chronic pain, anxiety and cancer. Some go to their GP and receive a prescription, which they take to a pharmacy. But many bypass their GP.

We need effective policies to reduce youth use of ENDS globally. Countries have implemented a variety of regulations to reduce ENDS use by youth, including comprehensive sales bans, but more research is needed on the effectiveness of these policies. Tobacco use continues to be the leading preventable cause of global disease burden [1].

This year, the Australian government will progressively ban the retail sale of all e-cigarettes, known as vapes. Vapers will only be allowed to use nicotine vapes that comply with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) product requirements – and only to help them quit or manage their nicotine dependence, if prescribed by a doctor and dispensed by a pharmacy.
