SARATOGA SPRINGS — While City Court tries to resolve tickets issued to two demonstration organizers, another activist announced he was ticketed by city police. Outside of City Hall on Tuesday morning, Joe Seeman said he was issued a summons on May 9 for an April 26 impromptu pro-democracy vigil. Seeman, who is a volunteer with Indivisible ADK Saratoga and a two-time candidate for state Assembly, said a city police officer showed up at the sidewalk demonstration and asked who was in charge.

HUDSON FALLS — Breathe Free Hudson Falls and Clean Air Action Network of Glens Falls will hold a community meeting to discuss the Wheelabrator Hudson Falls incinerator at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the American Legion, 72 Pearl St.The evening will feature guest speaker Mike Ewall, who heads the Energy Justice Network in Philadelphia and is a national expert on garbage incineration. His organization has helped communities oppose and defeat the construction of incinerators nationwide.

CAMBRIDGE — The man promoted last summer to the role of Cambridge-Greenwich police chief is suing a local television station for alleged libel and defamation. Robert Danko was charged last July — just days after being named chief — with misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment and harassment.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — City police appealed to the City Council for the second time on Tuesday night to approve a $25 million, three-story facility in order to, as they described it, provide better safety and security to both officers and people at the station. An hour-long presentation, given by Chief Tyler McIntosh and Assistant Chief Eric Warfield, drove home the message that the current 9,000-square-foot station in the basement of City Hall is cramped, outdated and in desperate need of repair.
