Chromosome replication and segregation are vital processes in all living organisms, ensuring the preservation of genetic material. The mechanisms of genome segregation have been extensively studied in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. In eukaryotes, mitotic chromatids are well defined and pulled apart by the mitotic spindle and motor proteins during chromosome segregation (1).
