Body Side hustles, second shifts, temping—all euphemisms for the increasingly unstable jobs that make up a more visible share of the American workforce. For many, these roles are more than just an extra source of income. As of 2017, 10 percent of the US labor force considered their “side hustle” to be their primary or sole source of income.
