    PONTOTOC- The Pontotoc Warriors (17-8) hosted the South Pontotoc Cougars (9-12) last Saturday night in a hard-fought rivalry matchup. A three-run home run from Corbyn Clayton in the bottom of the sixth would be the deciding factor as the Warriors held on for a 7-4 victory. Miller Finn took the mound for the Warriors, striking out the first Cougar batter of the night before giving up two walks.

    PONTOTOC- After falling to the Corinth Lady Warriors 7-1 last Tuesday, the Lady Warriors hosted game two of the Region 1-5A matchup last Thursday night. PHS came away with an 11-7 win, due largely to an early eight-run surge in the bottom of the 1st inning. Corinth took advantage of four hits to bring in three runs to kick off the night, but the Lady Warriors quickly answered.

    HOUSTON- The South Pontotoc Cougars traveled to Houston on Saturday, coming up short against the Toppers in a 7-3 contest. Rob Hancock took the mound for the Toppers, hitting Cruze Lackey with the first pitch of the afternoon before walking Isaiah Stuto and Eli Faulkner to load the bases. Jackson Harmon grounded into a fielder’s choice that brought Lackey home for the first run of the day. Hancock gave up another walk to Sheff White before earning his first strikeout.

    ECRU- The North Pontotoc Lady Vikings hosted Houston Friday night, with the Lady Toppers pulling out a 74-36 win. Houston came out of the gate strong, running up a 6-0 lead before North’s Tasia Scott got the Lady Vikings on the board with the first 3-pointer of the night midway through the first. Ava Anderson knocked down two at the foul line to kept the Lady Vikings within reach, as Houston pulled ahead 12-5.
