A black Honda Civic car and a brown Scania HGV lorry were involved in the collision. The driver of the car, a local man in his 20s, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Multiple calls were made to the fire service at around 2.28am this morning, Tuesday, May 13, reporting the first fire in Tiverton. “Originally it was unknown what was on fire but two fire engines from Tiverton and one fire engine from Cullompton were mobilised,” a spokesperson said. When they arrived, they found a vehicle “well alight”.
