Homering and driving in four runs, Greenberg helped No. 16 seed Fort Lee notch a 10-7 victory over No. 17 seed Bergenfield in Bergen County TOurnament action in Fort Lee. Now 12-5 on the season, the Bridgemen are onward to Wednesday’s Round of 16. Christopher Kim also doubled and scored three runs as part of a 3-for-3 day for the winners. Bergenfield fell to 9-9 with the defeat.

After some 32 goals scored, it was West Windsor-Plainsboro North who had the edge on the scoreboard. The Pirates, led by four-goal efforts from Louis Barrandon, Alec Siegel, and Rohan Vellanki, outlasted Hightstown for an 18-14 victory in Plainsboro. Caleb Ferguson and Andrei Lumezanu each scored hat-tricks for West Windsor-Plainsboro North, which is now 7-7 on the season. Trevor McCarthy had a fabulous game for Hightstown, scoring seven goals and assisting two others.

Goals came at a premium in Sparta on Saturday. In a game in which only nine were scored, fourth-seeded Sparta notched a 5-4 victory over fifth-seeded North Hunterdon in Hunterdon Warren Sussex quarterfinal action in Sparta. Eddie Brown scored a hat-trick to pace the Spartans, who are now 6-6 and onward to Tuesday’s semifinal round. Adam Teixeira won eight of 11 face-offs for the winners in this one. North Hunterdon fell to 5-9 with the defeat.

Ten different players scored for Bergen Catholic, and that balanced effort lifted the Crusaders to a 13-2 victory over Dwight-Englewood in Oradell. Now back to .500 at 7-7 on the year, Bergen jumped out to a 7-1 lead at the half to take command of this one. Miles Taylor, Steven Copeland, and Seamus Twomey all scored a pair of goals for the winners in this one. Dwight-Englewood (3-7) saw its goals scored by Max Lascher and Achille Pompidou.
