One minute it’s the middle of the off-season, the next it’s Holy Week. Time flies when you’re having fun and that’s exactly what we’re doing here at Cyclist. In just the past five days, issue 162 of Cyclist magazine has hit the shelves, which includes many Classics-related features including a Roubaix Big Ride, an interview with Matteo Jorgenson and my chat with Johan Museeuw about the Tour of Flanders.

While there were endless cool and interesting bikes gracing the Strade Bianche start lines – see our full tech gallery here – there’s one (or two with the bike change) that draws more attention than all the others combined: Tadej Pogačar’s Colnago V4Rs.On his way to yet another ridiculously impressive victory – see our full gallery from the race here – Pogačar was riding with an almost completely normal setup, with some slight adaptations for the rough Tuscan gravel.

The Classics are always the place to see teams being inventive with setups and new technology. While things have become far less radical in recent years as the peloton has adopted wider tyres, there’s still plenty of interesting details to notice. Strade Bianche is the perfect example of that, and this year’s edition saw largely normal looking bikes with a few nice touches if you look closer, including some unreleased products.

The Strade Bianche men’s and women’s races will take place on Saturday 8th March 2025, with the men’s race covering 213km and the women’s race over 136km.
