MIDDLEBURG — Even scoring twice in the first two minutes of Friday’s District 4 boys lacrosse semifinal, Lewisburg coach Ben Schneider knew the next 46 minutes would be a fistfight against Bellefonte. His intuition, based on recent history with the Raiders, was correct. kAm%96 vC66? sC28@?D 5@5865 2 E9:C5 @G6CE:>6 >66E:?8 H:E9 E96 #2:56CD H96? |:E496== {@C6?K 7:?:D965 @77 2 "F:?? |:4926=D 5:D9 H:E9 2 >:?FE6 =67E E@ =:7E {6H:D3FC8 E@ 2 h\f H:? 2E |:55\(6DE[ 2?5 2 C6EFC?

Like most standout distance runners, Sam Hennett put in a lot of miles on the road, on the track and in the classroom. The Shikellamy senior, an Honor Roll student with a GPA of more than 100, is closing out a stellar track & field and cross-country career in record-setting fashion. He broke the Shikellamy program record in the mile at an invitational a week ago, and heads into the postseason with momentum. kAmw6??6EE :D E9:D H66<’D s2:=J xE6> $49@=2C\pE9=6E6 @7 E96 (66<[ 2?

Daniel Walker admitted it took him some time to transition from basketball to baseball season, which is to be expected. The day after the Danville senior’s basketball season ended in the opening round of the state tournament, he was taking hacks in the batting cage for the Ironmen baseball team. After some initial struggles at the plate, Walker has been an integral part of the 10-2 Ironmen, who are looking for another deep postseason run after reaching the PIAA semifinals last spring.

Perhaps the best way to gauge Lake Dent’s ability and desire to compete came at the 2024 Heartland Athletic Conference freshman/sophomore meet. Dent, then a ninth-grader for Selinsgrove’s girl’s track & field team, won the long jump, an event she wasn’t regularly competing in. kAmx? E96 4=2DDC@@>[ s6?E’D 492==6?86D 4@>6 :?
