Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been given a hero’s welcome on his return to North Northamptonshire on a visit to meet his party’s recently elected councillors and executive members. Greeted at the door of Corby Cube, Mr Farage was warmly welcomed by North Northants Council leader Martin Griffiths, who gifted him a hamper of locally-produced goodies including a jar of Jam Queen preserve, some Jeyes of Earls Barton chutney and a bottle of Fleur Fields wine produced in Brixworth.

Urban Ops is a new airsoft facility in Wellingborough, built from the ground up by owners Amanda and Richie to be a place for people to enjoy the team-based shooting game. The business opened its doors in Wellingborough on April 6, and in the time since has enjoyed a positive start to life in the town, being the only place locally for those looking to experience the thrill of the up-and-coming activity.

The Daylight Centre held an open day at its community allotment in Wollaston on Wednesday, June 4, with the hope of raising awareness for the charity’s approach to sustainability. The Daylight Centre’s allotment was visited by local people and business representatives this week to take a look at the veggie patches, and the positive work that’s happening in the allotment.

Just days after confirmation that Swanspool gardens and pavilion have been transferred from North Northants Council (NNC) to Wellingborough Town Council, the newly-renovated tennis courts have followed suit. The courts were refurbished over the course of this year using a £50,000 grant from the LTA Tennis Foundation and £20,000 from North Northamptonshire Council, part of a nationwide initiative by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation.
