Witnesses are being sought after a man attempted to kiss a woman without her consent in the wooded area off Rutherford Drive in Wellingborough on Saturday, May 24. The incident took place between 3pm and 4pm near the Park Farm woodland area of Rutherford Drive in Wellingborough, where a man approached a young woman as she walked along the footpath. Police describe the man as white, about 30-years-old, of a medium build with blond hair and a distinctive bald patch on the top of his head.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man threatened staff at the Post Office in Sheep Street, Wellingborough with a weapon before stealing various items. Police believe the man in the picture, captured by CCTV, can help with their investigation. Between 5pm and 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, May 27), a man entered the Wellingborough post office, threatened staff with ‘a weapon’, stole various items including charity boxes, and then left the premises.

A new ramp for pedestrians and cyclists connecting the Greenway in Rushden to Washbrook Road has begun construction this week. Once completed, it will allow people from the surrounding area greater accessibility to and from the footpath, allowing them to walk from Washbrook Road at Midland Road to the Greenway, cutting commuting time to and from the town centre significantly.

The Wellie Wombles will be out in force on June 7, taking to the streets of the Hemmingwell estate in an effort to keep the town tidy - and they need your help. A litter pick will take place from 10am until midday on Wellingborough’s Hemmingwell estate, with those taking part meeting in Nest Farm Crescent, near KD Supermarket at 10am. Light refreshments will be provided by Booker Group, and all equipment will be provided on the day.

A woman is wanted in connection with a robbery at B&M in Whitworth Way, Wellingborough where she was seen assaulting a member of staff before leaving with items that were not paid for. Police are investigating the incident which happened at the store in Victoria Park, Wellingborough between 6.30pm and 7pm on Saturday, May 10. The woman assaulted a member of staff after she attempted to leave B&M without making payment.
