The Blind Sports Organization (BSO) hosted the Mid-Atlantic Goalball Tournament in February of this year (2025) at the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia, PA. This tournament hosts athletes from all over the region to participate in an all day competition. Goalball and the BSO were first featured on Weekend Philler back in season 8 when we got a glimpse into a practice session.

The Chester County Pops Orchestra or “Chesco Pops’ as they are more commonly known perform in Chester County and beyond. “The orchestra consists of 65 musicians from all walks of life,” Music Director Joseph Gehring tells us. Goalball is an adapted sport specifically designed for the visually impaired. The sport requires each player to rely heavily on their hearing, verbal communication with teammates, and tactile indicators on the court to determine where the ball is and keep it from getting into the net behind them.
