Brentwood-based development company GBT Realty announced Tuesday the hiring of Brian Dawson as chief executive officer, with company founder George Tomlin to maintain his title of president and chairman. According to a release, Dawson brings extensive real estate and capital market experience after having worked as senior managing director of capital markets with JLL, focused on Southeast region. More recently, Dawson served as interim CEO of Hoffman & Associates, a developer of D.C.’s The Wharf.

Shares of Pinnacle Financial Partners have seen an uptick Tuesday after the company reported first quarter results that topped analysts’ estimates. In late-afternoon trading, the stock of the Nashville-based financial company (ticker: PFP) was valued at $95.10 per share, up 3.14 percent (the equivalent increase of $2.90 per share). Volume was heavy, as about 927,000 shares had traded as of publication time.

Brentwood-based Sonata Bank has promoted veteran banking executive Wendell Bontrager to the role of chief executive officer. According to a release, the announcement comes as founding CEO Dan Dellinger is retiring. Bontrager previously served as president and chief lending officer at Sonata which lists $4 billion in assets.
