ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Virginia health officials have confirmed a third case of measles, this time in a young child exposed to a previous measles case in the Northwestern area of Virginia, according to a statement on Thursday. Officials said the child, aged under 4 years old, was confirmed in the Charlottesville area. Officials said he had been exposed to a teen who was also confirmed to have measles back on May 23.

HARFORD COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Maryland teen's impressive fishing skills netted him 10 trophy-sized fish, and as of June, a state award. Harford County high school student Nathan Choinski was declared the state's 20th FishMaryland Master Angler, according to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. He started the journey in 2020 after being encouraged to go fishing with friends.

WASHINGTON (7News) — A former employee of ousted D.C. councilmember Trayon White is facing charges after he shared heated words with another man during a forum on Monday, according to court documents. Court records show Eric Cleckley, 41, was arrested after the man called police, telling them at around 7 p.m. that Cleckley threatened to fight him during and after a forum held at the Union Temple Baptist Church.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Heavy smoke poured into the D.C. skyline as fire crews battled a two-alarm house fire in the northwest area, according to D.C. Fire and EMS Department officials. Approximately 100 firefighters were called to the 3800 block of Albamarle Street, Northwest, for a fire at a two-story detached home sometime before 3 p.m.Video from 7News' Scott Thuman showed the smoke visible from the Rosslyn area of Arlington, Virginia.
