MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Montgomery County, Maryland, police are looking for family members of a man killed in a pedestrian-vehicle crash overnight Wednesday, officials said on Friday. Police said Godofredo Gonzalez Zelaya, 46, was declared dead after a crash near Frederick Road and Indianola Drive in Derwood, Md., shortly before 1 a.m. on June 18.

ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — A Maryland woman allegedly ran off with thousands of dollars from a GoFundMe she created for a dead relative's funeral expenses and evaded police for over a year, according to Arlington County, Virginia, police. Police said Maryland resident Yesenia Amaya, 33, will face fraud and embezzlement-related charges for the 2023 incident. Police issued warrants for Amaya in February 2024, but were unable to find her until recently.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Metro, starting Sunday, will roll out long-proposed changes to weekend service hours, more frequent service on two of its lines, among other changes approved in April, according to the transit agency. Every Saturday and Sunday going forward, Metrorail trains will operate from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., an hour earlier and an hour later than what the agency runs currently.
