ROCKVILLE, Md. — Montgomery County Public Schools are hosting their 16th annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) college fair Friday evening. At the fair, there will be 41 HBCUs represented as well as 25 other organizations. WUSA9's Wisdom Martin talked to Dr. Karen Crews, director of student well-being and achievement for Montgomery County Schools, about the event.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Growing up in the 1960s, Darryl Hill just wanted to play football. He never thought about breaking the color barrier in high school, but he did. He would go on to change football across the region. "I had gone to Gonzaga. I was the first and only Black player on the team at that time," Hill said of his high school playing days. He broke the color barrier again at the Naval Academy. In fact, he was the first African-American to play football for any military academy.

WASHINGTON — Madonna has hit the road for her 'Celebration' tour, and alongside her, a DMV native is taking the stage, helping to be bring the music to life with his talent. Matthew Jamal, 24, from Silver Spring, whose main instrument is the double bass, decided to take on the challenge of playing cello for Madonna's shows. A challenge he accepted when offered — and will continue to do during the whole tour. How did Jamal get the gig? Well, it's a story of chance and opportunity.
