All-State Girls Basketball Teams for the 2024-2025 season announced
The 2024-25 all-state girls basketball teams are presented by CHSAANow.com and MaxPreps.
These teams were created following a lengthy process which included nominations from leagues, and then a vote of coaches.
A specific player of the year vote was held in each class, as was a vote for coach of the year.

The Colorado High School Activities Association announced the 2024-25 all-state boys basketball teams. The teams are presented by CHSAANow.com and MaxPreps.
These teams were created based on voting by head coaches across the state, with players placed onto First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention based upon votes received.
A specific player of the year vote was held in each class, as was a vote for coach of the year.

It was history in the making for the McClave girls’ and boys’ basketball programs in the 2025 Class 1A Colorado State Basketball Championships that were held on March 13-15 at UNC’s Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley.
McClave stole the show as it marked the first time in the school’s basketball programs that both teams captured state championships in the same year.

The 2025 Class 1A Colorado Girls State Basketball Championships get underway with the Great Eight (quarterfinals) on Thursday, March 13 at the University of Northern Colorado’s Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley.
Five teams return from last year’s state tournament field including defending state champion Briggsdale.
Also back are McClave, Eads, Idalia, and Stratton.
Newcomers in the bracket will be Hi-Plains, Fleming, and Evangel Christian Academy.

The quest for a coveted state basketball championship begins for Class 1A, 2A, and 3A girls’ and boys’ teams in their respective state tournaments on March 13-15.
The state tournaments for Class 1A girls and boys start with the Great Eight on Thursday at the University of Northern Colorado’s Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley.

The Class 1A #1 state-ranked McClave Lady Cardinals officially claimed the 2025 High Plains League crown thanks to a 47-38 victory over the Cheyenne Wells Lady Tigers on Friday, Feb. 21.
In the final league standings, McClave finished with a 5-0 league record.
#2 state-ranked Eads placed second with a 4-1 league mark.
Cheyenne Wells finished in third with a 3-2 record and followed by Granada at 1-4; Cheraw at 1-4; and Kit Carson at 1-4.

A long-awaited showdown between the McClave Cardinals and the Cheyenne Wells Tigers has finally arrived.
The two teams will collide for the 2025 Arkansas Valley League championship on Friday, Feb. 21 in McClave.
The showdown will be a rematch of the 2024 Class 1A state championship game won by Cheyenne Wells, 55-36.
It marked a historic win for the state tournament’s No. 2 seed Tigers who secured their first state title crown since 1955 over No. 1 seed McClave.

Appearances can be deceiving in these High Plains of Colorado. A small gathering of snow clouds on the horizon can, within just a few hours, become a blizzard killing hundreds of cattle. The quiet, unassuming man in worn jeans and resoled boots may be, in fact, the largest landowner in three counties. A tiny, quiet, humble woman may actually be someone who lived a life full of determination, independence and a self-sufficiency that was against all odds and expectations, at the time.
