The Lamar Thunder baseball team currently sports a 7-3 record following a split with Alamosa on April 4 and a Tri-Peaks League win over La Junta on April 8. In their first league game of the season, Lamar paid a visit to La Junta to take on the rival Tigers on Tuesday the 8th. Lamar won a slugfest against the Tigers by the score of 18-14 in 8 innings at Potter Park. Alex Aguilar fueled the Thunder on offense as he collected four hits in five at bats.

McClave, Eads, and Stratton currently remain unbeaten in the Class 1A District 4 race. Two area baseball games were played on Wednesday involving teams in the district. Granada hosted the Class 1A #5 state-ranked McClave Cardinals in District 4 action at Manuel Gonzales Field. McClave used a big third inning to spark a 16-4 victory over the Bobcats. Meanwhile, the #8 state-ranked Eads Eagles defeated Cheyenne Wells, 19-4, to remain in the hunt for the district title.

All-State Girls Basketball Teams for the 2024-2025 season announced The 2024-25 all-state girls basketball teams are presented by CHSAANow.com and MaxPreps. These teams were created following a lengthy process which included nominations from leagues, and then a vote of coaches. A specific player of the year vote was held in each class, as was a vote for coach of the year.

The Colorado High School Activities Association announced the 2024-25 all-state boys basketball teams. The teams are presented by CHSAANow.com and MaxPreps. These teams were created based on voting by head coaches across the state, with players placed onto First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention based upon votes received. A specific player of the year vote was held in each class, as was a vote for coach of the year.

It was history in the making for the McClave girls’ and boys’ basketball programs in the 2025 Class 1A Colorado State Basketball Championships that were held on March 13-15 at UNC’s Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley. McClave stole the show as it marked the first time in the school’s basketball programs that both teams captured state championships in the same year.
