ObservationsWe exploit the Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST) version 2.1 (v2.1) from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration58, mapped onto a 0.25° × 0.25° grid and available since September 1, 1981. We adopt the OISST data from 1982 to 2022 to investigate the observed MHWs in the Northeast Pacific.
