1. IntroductionKiwifruit (Actinidia spp.), also known as the ‘king of fruit’, is one of the world’s most consumed fruits. It has a unique sweet and sour flavor and is rich in a variety of vitamins and minerals [1]. Under the pressure of long-term evolution and natural selection, Actinidia spp. has produced abundant phenotypic and genetic diversity within and between species to adapt and survive.
