1. IntroductionSteel corrosion due to various reasons such as carbonation and chloride attack is the main problem that affects the durability of reinforced concrete (RC) structures [1]. Corrosion of steel not only results in a decrease in its cross-sectional area and mechanical properties, but also induces damage to the concrete cover and deterioration of the bonding behavior between concrete and steel. All of these factors negatively impact the mechanical properties of the RC members [2].
