1 IntroductionThe magnetotelluric (MT) method is an electromagnetic exploration method that was first proposed in the 1950s (Tikhonov 1950; Cagniard, 1953). Due to its advantages of low cost, simple construction, large detection depth, and high resolution of low-resistivity layers, the method is widely used in exploration geophysics.
