1 IntroductionAntenatal depression has received increasing attention in recent years. According to recent estimates, the prevalence of antenatal depression in high-income countries ranges from 7 to 20% (Andersson et al., 2003; Melville et al., 2010), and in low and middle-income countries, the prevalence is greater than 20% (Gavin et al., 2011; Husain et al., 2012).
