This retrospective study was completed at the First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University between December 2020 and January 2023. AbstractUbiquitin (Ub), a key player of protein turnover, can be phosphorylated by PINK1 kinase to generate S65-phosphorylated ubiquitin (pUb). Elevated pUb levels have been observed in aged and Parkinson's diseases afflicted human brains. However, how pUb is involved in neurodegeneration remains elusive. Here we show that elevation of pUb is pervasive in various neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, aging, and ischemic injury.

The use of 即 in Tiantai Buddhism represents the Sinicization of Indian Buddhism within the Chinese cultural framework. Prokaryotic CRISPR–Cas systems are counteracted by phage-encoded anti-CRISPR elements, and how they protect themselves remains enigmatic. A study shows that CRISPR-repressed toxins defend CRISPR–Cas against anti-CRISPR proteins or RNAs by inducing abortive infection.
