AbstractAristolochia subgenus Siphisia constitutes a monophyletic lineage of predominantly lianescent species, with occasional shrubs or herbs, and is characterized by remarkable diversity in perianth morphology. Members of Siphisia serve as larval hosts for endangered Lepidoptera and are widely used in traditional medicine.
