Publication is a major objective and outcome of the conduct of medical research (1). Although there are many different means of disseminating research findings not limited to social media, presentations at conferences, and posting on personal and institutional websites, publication in a peer-reviewed journal is recognized as paramount. The primary value of publication may be considered the dissemination of research findings.

The human population is expected to soon approach its peak. The United Nations estimated that the world human population exceeded 8 billion individuals on November 15, 2022 (1). While it took hundreds of thousands of years of human existence for the earth’s population to reach its first billion in 1804, the following the doubling time was reduced to 123 years by 1927, 48 years by 1975, and 38 years by 2022 (2).
