TrendingCHENNAI: Public sector Indian Bank on Saturday posted 32% growth in net profit at Rs 2,956 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2025 against Rs 2,247 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Its net interest income increased by 6% YoY at Rs 6,389 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2025, which was at Rs 6,015 crore during the year ago quarter. The operating profit rose by 17% YoY to ₹5,019 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 4,305 crore in the same quarter last year.

CHENNAI: Public sector Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) on Friday reported 30% growth in net profit at Rs 1,051 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2025 against Rs 808 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. It is the first time that the Chennai-headquartered bank crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark in net profit during a quarter. Its net interest income (NII) increased by 13% at Rs 3,123 crore in Q4 FY25, which was at Rs 2,763 crore during the year ago quarter.

TrendingCHENNAI: Private Equity - Venture Capital (PE-VC) investments rose by 27% YoY during the Jan-April period of CY2025 at $11.8 billion against $9.3 billion in the same four months period last year. The PE investments exclude those from the real estate sector. In April (2025), the investments stood at $2.7 billion, data released by research firm Venture Intelligence on Wednesday said. Of the total 360 PE-VC deals this year, April accounted for 88.

CHENNAI: Private sector Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) on Wednesday posted a 15% increase in net profit in the quarter ended March 31, 2025 at Rs 291 crore against Rs 253 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The gross NPA in Q4 FY25 reduced to 1.25% from 1.44% in the same quarter of FY24. The Tuticorin-headquartered bank's net NPA declined to 0.36% during the Jan-March quarter of FY25, which was at 0.85% in the fourth quarter of the previous year.

TrendingCHENNAI: In the wake of RBI's repo rate cut by 25 basis points, public sector Indian Bank on Wednesday announced a reduction in Repo Linked Benchmark Lending Rate by 0.35% (35 basis points) from 9.05% to 8.7%. The revised lending rates would be effective from April 11, 2025, the bank said in a statement. This move would lower borrowing costs for customers with loans linked to RBLR such as home loans and business loans, it added.
