By Yoo Jee-ho SEOUL, May 28 (Yonhap) -- It was in late 2022 that Chae Eun-seong left the LG Twins, the only Korea Baseball Organization club he'd played for in his nine-year career, to sign with the Hanwha Eagles as a free agent. Enough time has passed that Chae, now captain of the Eagles, no longer has any special feeling when he takes on his former team. But one thing has remained constant.

After the Eagles frittered away a 4-0 lead, Chae Eun-seong hammered a two-run home run with two outs in the top of the 11th inning to put the visiting team ahead for good in front of a sellout crowd of 23,750 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.

One team beats the other team 12-2 on KBO Opening Day. And this is what fans of those teams do together outside the stadium after that game. 👏 https://t.co/CjVwJjbekB

Some random info: Former #STLCards pitcher Kwang-Hyun Kim (aka KK, remember him??) will be the highest-paid player in the KBO in 2025. Will make roughly $2.05 million US (3 billion Korean won). Kim played for the Cards on a two-year, $8 million deal, from 2020 to 2021.
