Kulgam, Jun 19: Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulgam, Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday termed the killing of scientists in Iran by Israel as an "extremely satanic act", saying that "no other words can describe it". Pahalgam, Jun 14:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday announced the phased reopening of 16 tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir that were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. After thorough reviews by both Jammu and Kashmir divisional administrations, it was decided to reopen selected locations for tourist movement from June 17, starting with eight spots in each division.

The aromatic rice variety Mushk Budji has seen a significant rise in cultivation in Sagam area of Anantnag district following the intervention of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The area under cultivation has now expanded to over 451 hectares, up from just 245 hectares before the implementation of the scheme. Zaffar Ahmad, a farmer from Sagam, told Rising Kashmir that he has been cultivating Mushk Budji on 12 kanals of land for years.
