    Un barrage vieux de 5.100 ans, doté d'un réservoir et d'un déversoir, a été identifié comme le plus ancien projet de conservation de l'eau connu en Chine. Le barrage de Xiongjialing fait partie du site des ruines de Qujialing, à Jingmen, ville de la province centrale du Hubei. Il a été construit il y a environ 5.100 ans sur un affluent de la rivière Qingmudang et a ensuite été agrandi et élargi, a déclaré Tao Yang, de l'Institut provincial des vestiges culturels et d'archéologie du Hubei.
