Gogo’s supplemental type certificate (STC) for a direct current variant of Plane Simple Ka-band tail mount terminal for the Gulfstream G280 has been approved by EASA. It marks the first time a Plane Simple antenna has received regulatory approval for a terminal powered by direct current (DC) flow rather than alternating current (AC). The DC option enables distribution of high-speed broadband, powered by Viasat’s Jet ConneX service.

Gulfstream’s newest aircraft G800 has earned type certification from the FAA along with certification from EASA with “greater performance capabilities than originally anticipated” the company reports. “With the certification of the G800, Gulfstream has again exceeded expectations thanks to the expertise and rigour of our flight test, certification and manufacturing teams,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream.

Thoroughbred Aviation has welcomed Matt Hall as the newest addition to its sales team. Working closely with the sales and leadership teams, Hall (pictured right) will support Thoroughbred’s aircraft transactions. She will also lead the set up of new financial and HR systems, as well as mentoring the next cohort of aviation finance professionals at Jetcraft, with a focus on supporting women in the field.
