Gogo’s supplemental type certificate (STC) for a direct current variant of Plane Simple Ka-band tail mount terminal for the Gulfstream G280 has been approved by EASA. It marks the first time a Plane Simple antenna has received regulatory approval for a terminal powered by direct current (DC) flow rather than alternating current (AC). The DC option enables distribution of high-speed broadband, powered by Viasat’s Jet ConneX service.

Gulfstream’s newest aircraft G800 has earned type certification from the FAA along with certification from EASA with “greater performance capabilities than originally anticipated” the company reports. “With the certification of the G800, Gulfstream has again exceeded expectations thanks to the expertise and rigour of our flight test, certification and manufacturing teams,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream.

Industry veteran Mike Webber has joined Asian operator ACAM as its director of safety, security, compliance and quality. Webber is a current aviation safety auditor and has spent the last 20 years in a range of senior aviation management positions in Hong Kong and Singapore. “Safety is not just a policy, it’s a value. we are thrilled to welcome Mike Webber in this all important role,” said ACAM Group CEO Darren Broderick.

Thoroughbred Aviation has welcomed Matt Hall as the newest addition to its sales team. Working closely with the sales and leadership teams, Hall (pictured right) will support Thoroughbred’s aircraft transactions. The Kentucky-based firm handles a wide variety of aircraft, including the 2006 Citation XLS SN pictured above which is currently for sale on Thoroughbred’s website.

Steve Main has joined Aero Ventures as senior vice president to grow its aircraft sales business. He joins from broker dealer Mente Group. Bill Papariella launched Aero Ventures in June 2024. He sold Jet Edge to Vista Global in March 2022.
