    In front of a crowd of nearly 100 people, tension exploded once again at the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School District board meeting. The school board's regular meeting on April 14 in the Ramona gym saw the censure of board member Brooke Albertson, the appointment of Amber Malisch to fill a board vacancy, the designation of Rutland as the sole attendance center for the upcoming school year, the closure of the Spring Lake Colony High School and the loss of nine staff members.

    The Madison/Chester varsity high school baseball team swept Watertown in their home opener on April 8, a doubleheader at Baughman Field. Madison/Chester won the first game 4-1, and the second 10-6. Game one was a scoreless pitching duel for the first four innings, with fireballer JD Prorok taking the mound for Madison/Chester. Prorok allowed only a single hit and a pair of walks in five innings of work while racking up seven strikeouts. Watertown's sole run was unearned due to Madison/Chester error.

    The Madison/Chester varsity baseball team split a home doubleheader on April 10, losing to the Horace Hawks 6-5, while coming away victorious against the Grand Forks Central Knights 6-2. In the first game, Madison/Chester kept within one run of the Hawks despite trailing them in the hit column 9-3. Two of the team's hits were earned by the starting pitcher, Ben Brooks, who scored a run and provided a pair of singles. Madison/Chester's only other hit was a two-RBI single from Cohen Hahn. kAm~?

    With the weather warming, construction season will soon begin in earnest. The City of Madison welcomed the season with an open house at City Hall on April 8. The evening served as an opportunity for interested residents to come and ask questions about ongoing and upcoming construction projects throughout Madison. It was led by Director of Engineering and Community Development Ryan Hegg, with Banner Associates' Weston Blasius also being in attendance.
