LEO-CEDARVILLE, Ind. (WPTA) - Leo held another signing celebration after school on Monday. The Lions recognized three of their standout student-athletes, as they locked in their college decisions. Defensive tackle Tristan Roberts will continue his football career at Saint Francis. Faith Douglas signed with the softball program at Bethel University. Ethan Wudy will play baseball at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) -A tradition spanning seven decades continued at the Fort Wayne Sport Club on Monday night. Some of the top student-athletes in Northeast Indiana were recognized at the 70th Annual Sertoma Awards. Local sports broadcasting icons Dean Pantazi and Kent Hormann presented the awards, handing out plaques to this year’s recipients. One winner was chosen from each of the 16 high schools in Allen County.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The TinCaps didn’t get ideal weather conditions at Parkview Field on Friday night, but the team still managed to play, and win, its season opener against the Lansing Lugnuts. The TinCaps scored all of their runs over the first two innings of play, getting some excellent pitching performances in a 5-0 victory over the Lugnuts. Leo De Vries, San Diego’s top prospect, made an immediate impact in the Fort Wayne leadoff spot.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Jordyn Poole has found her new college team. The Dayton women’s basketball program announced the addition of Poole on Thursday. The Snider graduate had entered the transfer portal after her freshman season at Purdue. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - TinCaps fans will once again have a chance to see an elite teenage prospect suit up for their team this season. 18-year-old shortstop Leo De Vries joins Fort Wayne for the start of the 2025 season, after making his professional debut with Lake Elsinore last year. The switch-hitting infielder is currently the top ranked prospect in the San Diego Padres system (former TinCap Ethan Salas now holds the second spot).
